About R30A

Where We Came From, What We Believe, Who We Are

About Us

How this all Started

Redeemer30a started with a handful of friends, largely from a Small Group from Coastline Calvary Destin. For a while, we met weekly for worship in the living room of a home just off Hwy 30a (hence the name).

The burden for the church particularly came to the Huffman's when David was approached by a cancer patient who was seeking to know the Bible and how to be right with God. Shortly after that, the plan to launch a Gospel-Centered, Gospel-Celebrated, and Gospel-Advancing church took shape.
After the Huffman's completed A29 Church Planters assessment, and encouraged by our church, along with inviting some friends to join in our efforts, Redeemer began to grow organically by the grace of God.

Today, the Church‘s commitment to multiply christlike disciples through clearly declaring and sacrificially displaying the gospel still burns bright! What is exciting is the Lord continues to bring people who share in our passion to spread the gospel!

Our Mission

The Mission of Redeemer 30A is to Make Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ by clearly declaring and sacrificially displaying the Gospel here along the coast, and to the ends of the earth

Our vision

The Vision of our Church is to create a community of authentic believers and to witness a city transformed by the life-changing reality of the gospel, as people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

our pastor

David Huffman serves as Lead Pastor of Redeemer30a, and has since 2015. After coming to Christ at a young age (7) through the ministry of godly parents and his local church, David was encouraged in his calling into ministry by consecutive mentors in his life. Originally from Spokane WA, the Lord has taken him all over the world (46 countries) to diverse contexts and multiple churches in order to share the gospel and preach the Word of God.
He earned his degree in Biblical Studies (BA) from Moody Bible Institute, and his Masters of Divinity (MDiv) from George Fox Seminary.  And he is currently in the final stages of earning his Doctorate (DMin) from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
David has spent the past 20 years in full-time ministry, working in various capacities including global missions, para-church ministries, and more. However his passion has been serving the local church, which is the visible expression of the global body of believers. He is particularly passionate about biblical exposition, apologetics, theology and church polity. He believes the church's foundation should be built on the gospel of Jesus and the proclamation of the Word. At R30a, though he operates as the Lead Pastor he serves as one member on the board of plural elders. His responsibilities include overseeing Preaching, Vision, Leadership, & Culture.
Outside of the pulpit, pastor David enjoys going to the beach at sunset with his family, watching Gonzaga Basketball, playing chess, and reading/listening to theological content. During the week you will likely bump into him at the baseball fields watching his kids play on various teams. He is married to Haylee (who also holds an MDiv degree, & is skilled at hermeneutics and biblical theology). Together they are the parents of Asher (12), Hattie-Grace (9), & Augustine (4).

Our values

Where We Stand As A Church Devoted to Jesus.

BIBLE CENTRALITY (2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17)

We believe the bible is the word of God for the people of God. Therefore, we commit to gathering around the word of God in our Corporate and Private Worship, Community Groups, and Discipleship Groups.

WHOLEHEARTED WORSHIP (ROMANS 12:1-2)

We believe we were created to worship God in all of life. Yet, the calling is not just to worship God in every area but with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. We believe He deserves our full attention, affection, and devotion.

DESPERATE PRAYER (ΗEBREWS 4:15-16)

God is our provider in all things. He has granted us the means of prayer with the promise that we will be met at the throne of grace in our time of need.

COVENANTAL FELLOWSHIP (ACTS 2:42-47)

We believe we were made for community. That community's best expression is in covenantal relationship with brothers and sisters of common faith in Jesus Christ.

RADICAL SACRIFICE (2 CORINTHIANS 9:6-7)

GOSPEL ADVANCEMENT (MATTHEW 28:18-20)

We believe the antidote to greed is gospel generosity. We strive to be a church that sees needs and meets them. Our giving is informed by Jesus who “gave his life as a ransom for many.”
We believe the Church has been given a GREAT COMMISSION. It is our privilege to go into all the earth clearly declaring the gospel and sacrificially displaying it.
